Exchange Deployment Assistant was a great tool added into the Exchange deployment and planning tool inventory back in the Exchange 2010 days. The diversity of the tool covers both on-premises, hybrid and cloud based Exchange Server deployment solutions. With the recent release of the Exchange 2013 version, the EDA team also released the Exchange 2013 Deployment Assistant version. Currently this version doesn’t provide support for co-existence scenarios with Exchange 2010 or Exchange 2007, but the up-coming release will contain co-existence scenarios with legacy Exchange versions.

The usage scenarios for Exchange 2013 Deployment Assistant are greenfield environments or if you are planning to set up hybrid or cloud only Exchange 2013 environment.
