Import / Export of Mailbox in Exchange 2010
As we know that in Exchange Server 2010, we have the option to import and export mailboxes either through OUTLOOK 2010 or from the Exchange Mailbox Server Role itself.

And the great news about this feature is that you can import the bunch of .PST files into the Exchange Server directly, which was a biggest problem with the earlier versions of Exchange at the time of Migration from non-Exchange Platforms or Moving the POP3 based users to Exchange.

Known Issue:
This is a known issue in Exchange Server 2010 that if you try to import a PST to Exchange Organization on the Server, where you have installed the CAS & Mailbox Servers roles together.

Resolution:
You can import the PST files or Export the user’s Mailboxes to PST file on a temporary machine, where you can install the Exchange Server Mailbox Role along with the OUTLOOK 2010 (64 Bit Version), during the migration phase or importing / exporting time, you may use this Server as a temporary, and later on after completion of your work can bring this down by removing the Exchange Server 2010 from the Server through the ADD & REMOVE PROGRAMS & FEATURES (CONTROL PANNEL).

Microsoft said that they will fix this problem in the Exchange 2010 Roll up 4, and it is also expected to get the resolution in Exchange 2010 SP1.
